Another Nice Piece Of Jewelry

When an engagement is broken, who gets the ring?  Is the ring suitable for a new proposal later?  For some people the answers to these questions may seem obvious, but they are still very important to the ones doing the asking.  No matter how nice the jewelry is, how great the deals are, or who put up the money, an engagement ring is a major investment, which is why many broken engagements end with an argument over the ring.  All nice jewelry is a major investment, regardless of the deals.  But when it comes to broken engagements, some people just don’t know what to do.
When purchasing a nice piece of jewelry, most people choose the best deals possible, purely because of the expense.  Expense, of course, is why engaged couples sometimes purchase this nice piece of jewelry together.  So, who deals with the return of the ring, and who gets the money?  This scenario is easy.  The man and the woman both sought out the nice jewelry deals, and they both made the final decision, so both are entitled to an equal share.  In any other case, technically the man should get the ring back.  When he does, he may want to use it again, for a new proposal and a different woman.

Should he start searching for nice jewelry deals all over again?  Quite honestly, anyone who deals in nice jewelry will most likely suggest a new line of deals, but not necessarily because they want you to take advantage of their nice jewelry deals.  One reason is that the original ring symbolized the love between the first couple.  Another is that the second woman may feel offended by receiving a ring previously worn by someone else, especially if she finds out the “hard” way.  Of course, it is up to the man, but the wisest, fairest choice for all parties involved is to look for some nice new jewelry deals.
